TASTE-O-METER Rating:
"All the Blue Lotus spices are unbelievably potent. And this Blue Lotus Mint Chai, like it’s non-minted cousins, also has zero sweetener and zero milk substitute. The intention is that it be mixed with half water and half milk (as traditional chai is made) and the sweetener of your choice added to taste. Here, the mint flavor is noticeable yet subtle. And that's nice because you can drink a few cups of it without excessive mint buildup. I mean, lots of specialty flavors are nice on the first cup, but it quickly becomes excessive. Not so, here. The mint is mild.
A word to the wise regarding preparation: The directions call for first boiling the water, then adding the 1/4 teaspoon of powdered mix, stir, then add milk and heat. The reason for this sequence seems to be that the mix dissolves more easily in water. If you mix the milk and water and heat them together, and then add your mix, it seems to ‘clump’ together a bit. Not impossible, but certainly better to follow the directions. Us men may have difficulty with such a concept. Indeed, the reason I discovered why the directions read as they do is, well... guilty as charged."
