Create your nirvana anywhere! Relish Oregon Chai's signature blend of tea, honey, vanilla and spices at your desk or on the run. Oregon took chai from where it all started, and made it more convenient. Now you can enjoy instant, just-add-water chai with the unique benefit of all-natural ingredients. A serving of Original Chai Tea Latte Mix has approximately 35-55 mg of caffeine per serving. (For comparison purposes, a typical cup of coffee contains approximately 100-150mg per serving.)
Ingredients: Sugar, dried whole milk, dried nonfat milk, dried honey, tapioca maltodextrin, instant black tea, natural flavors, and salt. Contains Milk.
Attributes: No Hydrogenated Oils, Kosher Dairy.
Format: Dry Powdered Mix
Preparation: Mix 1 packet with 8oz hot water. Add a splash of milk or milk substitute as desired. Pour over ice to serve cold.
Additional information: Oregon Chai is one of the largest chai brewers in the US. The story began in 1994 with four women and a trip to India. Most Oregon Chai concentrates are over 90% organic and carry the USDA Organic seal. Sugar-Free Original, made with the sweetener Splenda, is the only concentrate that is not organic and all natural.
TASTE-O-METER Rating:
"Compared to Oregon Original chai concentrate, the powdered mix version is a little stronger on the black tea flavoring and a notch down on the sweetness rating. Perhaps the biggest difference however, isn't reflected in the rating itself. While the concentrate gives the distinct impression of a sweetness flavor derived of honey in milk, the powder mix is a more subtle form of sweet with the honey flavor toned down. Personally, I like the Oregon mixes more than their liquid concentrate cousins. And the mixes are more convenient. One interesting note: The Oregon mixes include powdered milk, so mixing with water still gives a very milky result, unlike some of the other brands that use only non-dairy creamer. By contrast, the Oregon dry mixes do not give a thin result, even when mixed with straight water. All in all, a well conceived chai product!"
